KiNE HjELDNES

Kine Hjeldnes is a self taught musician, songwriter and producer who’s been releasing music since 2014. Her latest release, “Feathers / Morpheus” got A-listed on norwegian radio and the well renowned music blogg The Line Of Best Fit had this to say about the single:

“While the instrumental side of the song is a terrific mix of vintage sci-fi sounds, gothic synth bass and snapping percussion the real star of the show is Hjeldnes' voice which reaches almost operatic levels of drama at points, has hints of Kate Bush, and more than a hint of menace as she sings of dreams, the sea and pain. When Hjeldnes sings "I could not scream" over and over it's as enticing as it is terrifying.”

2017 has been Hjeldnes’ busiest year so far. She’s been visiting Sofar’s concert series twice this year, played shows at festivals like Novafest and even a small attendance at by:Larm. Keeping the underground warm. In October she played support for Com Truise and earlier she made an appearance in Ost&Kjex and Mungolian Jetset’s annual christmas show.

Her music can be described as alternative electronic pop, and Hjeldnes been picking up references and inspiration from a lot of different fields and genres. She’s really into music from the 60s, 70s and 80s, and has been stealing unashamed from that era. Science, science fiction, noise, horror, pop, ABBA, Haruomi Hosono, Youtube and philosophy has also influenced the music alongside awesome pop acts like Tove Lo, Sia, Solange, Whitney Houston, BØRNS and many more.

Kine is putting an end to avery productive year with two weeks of touring in Italy. She’s bringing her good friend and fellow musician Jarek Ilski, and they’re looking forward to perform both old and new songs for you.
